How will you measure your life?
“I’ve concluded that the metric by which God will assess my life isn’t dollars but the individual people whose lives I’ve touched,” said Clayton M. Christensen in 2010.
Think about the metric by which your life will be judged, and make a resolution to live every day so that in the end, your life will be judged a success.
Known for “Disruption” and “Disruptive Innovation” concepts and author of The Innovator’s Dilemma passed away recently.
In a moving tribute, Kara Swisher wrote that the tech industry does not deserve the kind and good advice that Professor Christensen imparted, but it should take it anyway.
“Decide what you stand for. And then stand for it all the time.”
For professor Clayton, the purpose of his life grew out of his religious faith. But as I have shared earlier everyone has a different “Purpose of Life”. Similarly for Gitanjali JB pursuing her varied interests and excelling in them has led to something meaningful in her life. The social entrepreneur is setting up the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh as its Founding member and CEO. Watch her inspirational journey and how at the end it all connects.
I was fortunate to know about HIAL and the work it is doing in Ladakh on my last trip to the newly formed state.
Over the years I have struggled with this thought - how would I want the world to remember me when I am dead. Okay, the world is exaggerated but maybe few people apart from my family. It was always related to work. Work is important and I will always remain a villain in some stories but I am fine with it.
But now I pursue“Value” in whatever I do and people should remember me as a “Human Being” and not as an assh**e.
Okay, after all the gyan time for a recap of my boring digital marketing stories.
Digital is the only medium and growing but is there more to it? I share my thoughts on the latest DAN’s Digital Advertising 2020 report and how the advertising sector has been in a bad shape due to the struggling Indian economy.
Audio storytelling is a growing medium and large players are investing. The latest one is Amazon with an exclusive app for India and a massive advertising campaign is giving stiff competition to Spotify and Gaana in India.
And finally, I share my thoughts on the ongoing initiative of SBI Life’s Real Life Real Stories. The ongoing campaign is interesting but the brand can do more rather than just be a passive spectator.
Before I wrap up here is a beautiful quote from Rumi which I came across watching Gitanjali’s video.
Enjoy your weekend, spend time with yourself and I will see you next week with some more interesting stories.
By the way, do check out my video stories if you have time :)
Peace and happiness :)
