What a week it has been. A single tweet got the entire government and influencer mercenary working overtime.
Have a spine and speak up. Doesn’t matter whether you are Akshay Kumar or Virat Kohli tweeting and showing faith in the democratic process of the country.

Or be Diljit Dosanjh who has been supporting the farmer’s cause. This is his tribute to Rihanna - RiRi. 3 days, 4.4 million views, and as of now trending on YouTube.
Politics interests me but I have been off from consuming and educating myself with current global affairs. So I am not going to take a stand. But it is amazing how you are branded as an Anti-National if you don’t agree with a certain set of beliefs.
Why should I give a certificate to the world that I love my mother?
But the tweet has got all the attention the movement required. Whether it is being supported by Khalistan believers or the simple farmers is a matter right in front of you to consume.
Even the good for nothing opposition has woken up and is showing support for the farmers. This was such a great event to challenge the ruling government instead they are busy sucking up to the dynasty and asking the prince to be nominated once again as a party president. The drama never ends.
IMO most of us haven’t read the policies and how does it affect the farmers. Why is it a certain section of farmers have a problem and the rest don’t? Are such things that Greta Thunberg or Mia Khalifa might not know (my assumption).
But my favorite tweet comes from Randeep Hooda - a throwback video of his co-star Kangana playing as Rehana.
What is history’s biggest fraud?
Agriculture Revolution.
I was stocked when Yuval Noah Harari writes in his book Sapiens. After reading the chapter I have never been so shocked and overwhelmed. According to the book for 2.5 million years humans fed themselves by gathering plants and hunting animals that lived and bread without their intervention.
However, all this changed when Homo Sapiens began to devote almost all their time and efforts to manipulate the lives of few animals and plant species. It was the beginning of the Agriculture Revolution. Back then people might have thought they are progressing but it is one of the reasons why we are entering the world of pandemics. COVID-19 is just the trailer.
The luxury trap as the author says became the reason for mankind sticking to certain geographies which gave rise to money, caste system, and religion. The quote from the author sums it up:
By the way, I mean no disrespect to people who believe in God and religion.
Adú, the Spanish drama talks about three intertwined stories related to the African immigration to Europe. At the center is a story of a six-year-old boy who along with his sister makes a desperate attempt to flee Cameroon for Europe. Why? For a better life or a rather a safe life. Elephant poachers kill the family and the children are saved by their mother.
Two countries separated by huge wired fences - one battling to survive and one enjoying the fruits of modern life. Hoards of African risking their life to enter Spain for a better life. Among them are a lot of children.
The movie is grim, dark, breaks your heart but it also made me realise that I don’t have to rush for food or shelter. I can stream the movie and feel sad about it from the comfort of my room.
In Adu, where we have an activist working with an NGO to stop elephant poaching; in Backstabbing for Beginners whistleblower Michael Soussan (played by Theo James) unravels the conspiracy behind the UN Oil-for-Food Programme.
Based on his book, the movie showcases the major corruption scandal, whereby payoffs and bribes diverted $20 billion of the funds away from food and into the hands of companies, banks, officials of various governments, and officials of the UN itself.
Ben Kinsley is brilliant in the movie as Costa Pasaris, a.k.a. Pasha (fashioned after Benon Sevan, the actual head of the United Nations' Oil-for-Food Programme)
And finally, an Indian Malayalam movie - Kilometers and Kilometers. The comedy-drama road movie is a simple love story with its moments. The guy who is in love with his Bullet can only speak Malayalam and his pillion rider knows US English. Both are on a journey. It is a feel-good movie that won’t bore you.
Tovino Thomas as Josemon is charming and will keep you hooked.
That’s all for this week. Okay, my song of the week is Sajnaa from Nafees. What a banger it is.
Stay safe and love your loved ones.
Peace be with you,
PN.
